Nonprofit Boards That Work…is the topic of a workshop sponsored by the Spencer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Spencer County Community Foundation, and the United Way of Southwestern Indiana. The workshop, presented by nonprofit consultant, June Miller, will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Spencer County Youth and Community Center in Chrisney, IN from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop is free and includes lunch and materials.
Nonprofit executive directors, staff, board members, and those interested in becoming a board member of a nonprofit are invited to attend. Topics covered will include responsibilities and liabilities of the board; the relationship between the board, executive director and staff; the board’s role in fundraising; and how to recruit and retain good board members.
Workshop instructor, June Miller, has been involved in nonprofit training, consultation and facilitation for over 25 years. She is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer, a Certified Training Presenter; holds a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Indiana University
Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and has partnered with Indiana Youth Institute as a consultant since 2005.
