What are the top challenges for kids in Vanderburgh County and what do we do about them?
The Indiana Youth Institute, Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce Board, Inc.’s Youth Committee, and FACES/Vanderburgh County System of Care invite you to attend a community discussion and resource fair to learn about what kids and families are facing and how we, as individuals and as organizations, can work together to impact the wellbeing of kids.
Leadership Session – 8:30-11:30 am
Lunch & Resource Provider Fair – 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Direct Service Session – 12:30 – 3:30 pm
Join us for a robust and data-driven discussion on both problems and solutions in areas such as family and community, economics, education, health and safety. Each session will provide the latest data from the 2018 Indiana KIDS COUNT® Data Book and best practice research on successful approaches to key child well-being issues.
Participants will work together to explore how collaboration among service providers, businesses and community leaders can create solutions that improve outcomes for kids. Attendees will learn about services and resources available in the community and will discuss key ideas for implementation in their organizations and the community.
The Leadership Session is designed for business leaders, foundation leaders, nonprofit executive directors, community leaders, others in leadership or decision-making roles. The Direct Service Session is designed for front-line youth workers such as teachers, counselors, family case managers, others who work directly with youth and families.
During the Resource Fair, attendees will have the opportunity to visit with organizational representatives at exhibit booths to learn more in-depth information about each organization.
