The money will help fund the YMCA’s College and Career Readiness Program, which serves 250 students each school year. The program is currently offered at six local schools including Caze, Fairlawn, McGary, Delaware, Evans, and North Junior High School. The program allows students to research careers, visit college campuses, and tour local businesses to learn about jobs they might have some day in our community. The curriculum provides hands-on opportunities for students to learn about jobs they will then see first-hand on a weekly field trip.
Each year, Westfield Trilogy and Horizon independent agents are invited to nominate a local nonprofit for the Legacy of Caring program through the Westfield Insurance Foundation. The program invests in communities and helps impact disaster recovery, family stability or safety, and programs that invest in attracting and developing talent to insurance as a career. Local partners Heston Insurance Company, ONI Risk Partners, and Shepherd Insurance nominated the YMCA for the program.
This year, the Westfield Insurance Foundation donated more than $500,000 to neighborhoods across the country. Agents from 88 agencies in 17 states donated to 95 nonprofits.
