Wesselman Woods opens its doors for free for the first “Wellness in the Woods” event

Wesselman Woods will be open for free during September 21-26 and offering activities that promote a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

Join Wesselman Woods (WW) for the first annual “Wellness in the Woods” event. This week of activities and entertainment aims to uplift the community through health and wellness awareness. WW will be open for free September 21-26, during normal operating hours (Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from Noon to 5 PM) to promote equal access to this unique outdoor space.

Sponsored activities will take place throughout the week thanks to many local health and wellness advocates including: Brinker’s Jewelers, Old National Bank, Water Street Partners, Urban Seeds, Caliber Home Loans, Hook’s Apothecary, the Evansville Trails Coalition, and the Theby Family. WW is also excited to reveal 10 new educational trail signs in the Nature Preserve this month thanks to a generous donation from Kenny Kent Chevrolet.

Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve and the Welborn Baptist Foundation Nature Playscape will be open to the public for free this week thanks to funding provided by the COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region, Kenny Kent Chevrolet, Brinker’s Jewelers, Old National Bank, and Water Street Partners.
