The Women’s Fund of Warrick County, a fund of the Warrick County Community Foundation, presented $33,500 in grant awards at their annual Women’s Fund Day held April 29th in Newburgh.
“Since the fund was initiated 11 years ago, over $385,000 has been granted to support programs and services that improve the quality of life for Warrick County families.” says Sidney Hardgrave, Regional Director of Community Engagement and Impact with the Foundation. The Women’s Fund addresses the changing needs and priorities in Warrick County through an annual competitive grant cycle.
“Without our generous donors, these grants wouldn’t be possible,” says Colleen Martin, chair of the Women’s Fund Grant Committee. “The Women’s Fund creates an opportunity for many members of the community to significantly impact our community through the power of endowed gifts. Through the Women’s Fund endowment we are able to address current needs and build a long-term source of support for the future challenges our communities may face.”
This year, grants were awarded to Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, to improve home environments for Warrick County adults with significant disabilities; Encountering Hope Ministries, for completion of a new home for Hope Central; Holly’s House, to support the “Think First & Stay Safe” Child Abuse Prevention Program; Lynnville Summer League, to support their restroom construction project; Southern Indiana Resource Solutions, Inc., to support transportation for individuals with disabilities; United Methodist Youth Home, to support the construction of a weather-safe room in the new group home serving at-risk girls; Warrick County Museum, to support their program for third grade tours; and the YWCA of Southwest Indiana, to support the iCook program.
