Congratulations to McFadin Higgins & Folz LLP, Attorney Posey County Office November Member of the Month! Read on as Beth McFadin Higgins, owner, gives incites to her favorite things about owning a law practice and the services she provides.
Who started the business and why?
Established in 1996 when I desired to define the purpose of my law practice and the outreach I wanted to have in the community in not only serving the legal needs of my clients, but attracting new clients and growing our region, and particularly in Posey County, IN.
What are the services you provide?
MHF is a private law practice. I provide legal services in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianships, adoptions, business organizations, real estate, contracts, CHINS representation, mediation, and municipal law.
What is your favorite thing about the business?
Being an attorney in Mt. Vernon, IN gives me the opportunity to cultivate professional relationships with existing clients and create opportunities with new clients. I enjoy problem solving and assisting people in planning for the future, whether it be through their business or their personal lives. I also enjoy the municipal side of my practice because this gives me the opportunity to support and market our community, whether it is working with our elected officials, planning our future growth, or serving on boards and organizations in a volunteer capacity. Every day brings new questions and ideas. My practice allows me to pursue knowledge and passion for my profession, my community, my faith and my family every day!
What do most members of the community not know about the business?
I have been an attorney since 1987, but have worked in a law office in some capacity since I was 16 years old. Also, funny thing, I opened my office on August 1, 1996 and had our third child on August 4, 1996! Never a dull moment.
Anything else you would like to add?
The success of a business is the people, not the building. I have been blessed with great staff and clients. Also, networking through organizations like the Chamber continues to be a great asset.
