Better Business Bureau is closed effective Wednesday, March 25th, our BBB office will be closed and employees will be temporarily telecommuting from home. BBB staff will be available by phone and email, during normal business hours (M-Th: 8a-5p, F 8a-1p), and can assist with most BBB services, questions or requests. Easterseals Rehabilitation Center
The primary location of the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center at 3701 Bellemeade Ave. in Evansville continues to be closed to the general public through at least April 20, 2020, to protect the well-being of clients and staff during the coronavirus crisis. However, the organization is still meeting many essential needs for area children and adults with disabilities.

Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science is closed through April 8 out of “an abundance of caution.” Also canceled are its participation in the multi-venue “Destination Discovery” spring break camp. All special events and programs, including school and group tours, are postponed until the end of March. Additionally, the April 9 Friends of the Evansville Museum Pre-Derby Style Show and Luncheon is postponed.
Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library will remain closed until further notice. All due dates will once again be extended and we encourage library users to keep their borrowed materials while we are closed. EVPL is fines free so library users will not have overdue fines. All EVPL programs, outreach services, Passport Services, and meeting room reservations have been suspended. EVPL staff are working to bring library experiences to our community in a different capacity. Additional details will be released on our website and social media. EVPL services can still be accessed through our digital portals. More digital resources are being added to our collection. There are thousands of eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies, TV shows, music, and more, available 24/7.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Holiday World will delay the grand opening day at least until June.
Houchens Food Group announced today that all grocery and convenience stores will be closed for Easter Sunday, April 12th, 2020. The day will offer each employee a much-deserved day of rest and time to spend with their loved ones. Ivy Tech Community College has announced that its Summer semester will be virtual and online like the current Spring term. The summer calendar has been slightly modified.
- There will be 2-week intersession from May 26 to June 6, followed by an 8-week session.
- This eight-week session will occur from June 8 through August 1.
- Within the 8 week session, there will also be two standard four week sessions.
- There will not be a 10-week session.
If the situation allows, we will explore options for students to complete labs, hands-on activities and, possibly even clinicals. If it does not, we will consider using early August, again, if it is considered safe to do so.
As a result, the following changes are effective Monday, March 16 through Wednesday, April 15, at which time we will re-evaluate:
- All in-person and volunteer-driven Junior Achievement in-school programming will be postponed.
- Events (i.e. student events, fundraisers, meetings, workshops, etc.) will be conducted virtually or rescheduled.
- Finally, we are implementing a virtual work environment for all JA SWIN team members. Please continue to engage with us via technology!
Mesker Park Zoo is closed to the public through Sunday, March 29
METS – Metropolitan Evansville Transit System
Beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, METS will operate 12 hour days – operating nine routes Monday through Saturday. The transit will operate regularly scheduled service on Sunday. In addition to adding extra disinfecting cycles to all buses and facilities, the change in service will reduce the possibility of exposure to the public and METS employees. METS is continuing to provide public transportation for the everyone, including mobility services, that have a need to travel. Please do not travel unless it’s essential.

Disinfecting cycles were added back in March at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., in addition to daily disinfecting procedures at the end of operating hours.
Rivertown Trail in Newburgh
The Rivertown Trail in Newburgh is closed to the public. The closure is due to overcrowding and the difficulty to social distance on narrower portions of the tail. Officials say police will be out enforcing the closure. The trail will reopen on May 1.
Posey County Businesses
After careful consideration and the new developments with the COVID-19, the Posey County Commissioners in conjunction with The Posey County Health Department has determined for the best interest of the residents of Posey County to close some nonessential businesses that provide very close contact. This includes hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, bowling alley, tanning salons, and fitness centers. This will take effect on March 20, 2020 at close of business until further notice. This decision was not taken lightly but for the health and well being of our county. Banks, grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations will continue business as usual. University of Evansville is rescheduling its Spring Commencement ceremony to take place during Homecoming weekend on the morning of September 19, 2020, at the Ford Center.
University of Southern Indiana – Weekly Updates
Campus return date extended to April 7
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has issued a stay at home order for the state until April 7. In following the state guidelines, the USI campus, including University-owned and -operated locations outside of campus, such as Innovation Point, New Harmony properties and the Stone Family Center for Health Sciences, will remain open only to authorized personnel until Tuesday, April 7. The April 7 date is subject to change as the University continues to evaluate the situation and follow state guidelines. All in-person Lifelong Learning courses are canceled through the end of the semester, May 6
Vanderburgh Humane Society shelter facility will be closed to all public walk-in traffic until further notice. Adoption applications will be accepted online, but no adoptions will be completed until quarantine period is lifted.
Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, Nature Center, Nature PlayScape and recycling center is closed until further notice. All programs and activities will be postponed during this time, as well, including volunteer activities.

Chemo Buddies HopeFest – Rescheduled to Saturday, June 20th, 2020
DRUMS on the OHIO scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2020 has officially been cancelled by Drum Corps International. In addition, DCI has announced that the entire 2020 season will be cancelled due to the current COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak.

Maestro Alfred Savia’s Farewell Concert, Puccini’s Turandot, is rescheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 7 PM at the Victory Theatre. Tickets can be purchased after May 1, 2020 at 812.425.5050, online at evansvillephilharmonic.org or at the door, two hours prior to the concert. All patrons who currently hold tickets for Turandot may hold onto their tickets and use them for the rescheduled concert on August 15, 2020 at 7 PM. Maestro Alfred Savia’s Farewell After-Party will immediately follow the 7 PM August 15 concert at DoubleTree-Evansville with appetizers and cash bar. Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment scheduled on May 14-17, 2020 at the Ford Center in Evansville has been cancelled. Tickets purchased on Ticketmaster.com will automatically be refunded to the original form of payment.
Henderson Tri-Fest has been cancelled. The Henderson Breakfast Lions Club will cancel the 2020 Tri-Fest, scheduled for April 17 through 19, in downtown Henderson. This also includes the 5K. Refunds will be distributed to groups who have reserved space for the festival to the address on the vendor application.
Old National Events Plaza
Old National Events Plaza will be closed to the public. During that time, in addition to event cancellations and postponements, Old National Events Plaza staff will be unable to receive customers at our box office, and many personnel will be working remotely. Patrons looking to inquire about or purchase tickets to a future event, or those seeking a refund to a cancelled event, should call 812-437-8200 or e-mail email@example.com.
Past April 6, 2020, per the recommendations of the CDC and Governor of the State of Indiana, non-essential gatherings will be limited to no more than 50 people over the through May 10, 2020. This includes conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings and other types of assemblies.

BEAUTIFUL – THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, originally scheduled for April 16, 2020, has been rescheduled. The new performance date will be March 3, 2021 at 7:30 PM. At this point, no additional action is required by ticket holders. Patrons will keep their previously selected seats, and original tickets will be valid for the new performance date.
THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG will not take place on May 5, 2020. Tickets purchased via Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded to the original method of payment. All other tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.
WWE® NXT® LIVE AT OLD NATIONAL EVENTS PLAZA RECHEDULED
The WWE (NYSE: WWE) NXT live event scheduled for Saturday, March 28th at the Old National Events Plaza in Evansville, IN has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 19, 2020.
All tickets purchased for the Evansville, IN NXT live event will be honored on December 19, 2020. Fans that cannot attend the rescheduled date may obtain refunds at their original point of purchase.
Right to Life Banquet – Postponed until Sept. 10
As the mission of Right to Life of Southwest Indiana (RTLSWIN) seeks to protect life, the RTLSWIN Board of Directors has voted to postpone the Annual Banquet until Thursday September 10, 2020. All reservations, corporate sponsors, ticket holders and ad book placements will transfer to the new date; and, every effort will be made to keep the proposed programming in place.
