4th Annual Front Porch Fest EVV
August 31, 2019
5pm-8pm Neighborhood porches
8pm-11pm AFTER party at Haynie’s Corner Fountain area

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Front Porch Fest organizer Amy Word. Amy, who first heard of this DIY music festival when reading through an article on Facebook, knew that there was no better fit for this event than her own backyard…well, her porch, that is. And this year’s event is bittersweet for her, as it will be the last for her living in the neighborhood and organizing the event, but knows it will be in great hands for next year and hopefully many years to come.

“It has been an incredible thing to bring to our area, and to watch this idea grow to our neighbors in Henderson and Owensboro, and to the Lincolnshire neighborhood right here in Evansville, is very fulfilling. It’s such a beautiful concept: neighbors, front porches, and music. It’s what community means.”

“Front porch fest provides a stage for every kind of local musician, bringing hosts, neighbors and visitors together. Creating that kind of opportunity in our community— literally in our front yards— is what this event is about.”, said Samantha Buente, neighborhood advocate and fellow Front Porch Fest organizer.

The big after party at the Haynie’s Corner Fountain area this year will feature the bands Gentlemen and Scholars and Thunder Dreamer. They’ll be rocking the corner beer garden from 8pm-11pm, after the porch parties in the neighborhood. Also, over FORTY HOMES this year, with the most diverse offering of musical genres yet.

This event is made possible by the generous donations from Moore Music, The Arts Council of Southwest Indiana, Haynie’s Corner Arts District Association, and the Bosse Foundation.
