The LyondellBasell Evansville Plants today announced a donation of $7,240 to United Way Southwestern Indiana.
“The United Way campaign is more than a corporate initiative. It’s a way for our employees who live in this area to help their community neighbors,” said Jeff Leystra, Site Manager.“ Our employees know their gifts make a difference to those who need it most and rely on this assistance. We are proud to support United Way, as it diligently works to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community.”
Annually, the company runs a campaign across the United States to raise funds in support of United Way’s efforts to serve those most in need. LyondellBasell matches money raised by employees on a dollar-for-dollar basis. In 2020, LyondellBasell has distributed a total of more than $1.5 million to 35 individual United Way chapters across the country.
“LyondellBasell and its employees have demonstrated a genuine concern for the welfare of our community through enthusiastic involvement in volunteer work and determined fundraising efforts,” said Amy Canterbury, President and CEO of United Way of Southwestern Indiana.
The company’s global citizenship program, Advancing Good, focuses on three key areas: Advancing Our Communities, Advancing Our Planet, and Preparing Tomorrow’s Workforce.
