Conference overview
The focus of this event is to provide professionals, parents, and other caregivers with cutting-edge, scientifically based information regarding assessment and intervention techniques, while also increasing community awareness and collaboration. For the first time, the conference will also feature afternoon tracks designed specifically for parents and professionals. Further information about speakers and topics are included.

“Perseverating on Perseverations”
Creative and innovative ways that parents and teachers have used their child’s or students’ perseverations to achieve success.

“Autism from the Inside Out and the Outside In”
Lessons from an autism survivor on the struggles and opportunities of living with the condition.

“Perspectives on Autism”
An autism survivor discusses the importance and practicality of the 10 unwritten social rules for those on the spectrum.

“Teaching Self Control to Children with ASD”
Practical strategies for addressing self-regulation/self-control difficulties and antecedent strategies to implement in classrooms and homes to maintain self-control.

“Do you know, MO? He can do a lot for you!”
An introduction to MO — motivating operations — and how to contrive them by manipulating the environment and creating states of deprivation, then use that momentum to create meaningful language.

Panel discussion
A discussion and question-and-answer session on topics including Medicaid waiver services, feeding and GI aversions, resources and grants, organization and preparation for appointments, community networking and support groups, and more.
