Event series highlights Downtown Evansville as a nightlife destination
The DOWNTOWN EVANSVILLE – Economic Improvement District (EID) is hosting the first Night on Main Presented by Romain GMC for 2021 on Saturday July 31 from 7 – 11 PM on the 200 Block of Main Street.
The event, billed as Downtown Evansville’s summer block party series, is a collaboration with Peephole Bar & Grill and will feature DJ Chidi playing 80’s hits, a three-story slide, caricature drawings, photo booth, giant Jenga, giant beer pong, yard games, and an 80’s costume contest.
The event is for guests 21 years of age and older. Admission is $10 per person and can be purchased online or the night of the event. There are no processing fees for online purchases. Admission includes access to all activities. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
“We’re looking forward to showcasing Downtown as a nightlife destination through our Night on Main series. This outdoor event allows for safe, distanced fun and entertainment on Main Street. Bring your friends as we also generate charitable support for Vanderburgh Humane Society, owners of River Kitty Cat Café at 226 Main Street,” said Josh Armstrong, president, EID.
Lashbrooke’s Barbecue and La Plaza Food Truck will be serving food to attendees. Peephole Bar & Grill will be selling beverages. Existing Downtown businesses will also be open for customers.
The media partner for the series is Townsquare Media and their Downtown Evansville based-stations MY 105.3 WJLT, 99.5 WKDQ, KISS 106, and 103 GBF. The remaining Night on Main dates for 2021 are Saturday, August 14 on the 300 Block of Main with High Score Saloon and Saturday, September 18 on the 500 Block of Main with Kevin’s Backstage Bar & Grill.
