The Diamond Galleria announces its 2017 Charity Check Presentation Event to distribute funds from its 5+5=Love Program on Thursday, April 5th at Pangea Kitchen.
Over the course of 2017, The Diamond Galleria has donated over $150,000 to local nonprofits, some of the funds include its 5+5=Love Program. Giving back to the community is one of the core values of The Diamond Galleria and its owners, Bert and Tyna Wheat. Through this program, The Diamond Galleria gives back a portion of sales, to charities who wish to be involved.
The April 5 luncheon will honor and celebrate many great local nonprofits and their leaders who will be presented with funds to continue their mission. Charities that will be honored include:
- Holly’s House Evansville
- Broken Homes Mended Hearts
- Easterseals Rehabilitation Center
- American Heart Association
- Tri State Medical Alliance
- Evansville Junior League
- March of Dimes
- Touch, Inc.
- Heart Saver
- YWCA of Southwest Indiana
- Evansville African American Museum
- Vanderburgh County CASA
- Susan G. Komen Evansville Tri-State
Tyna Wheat, owner of The Diamond Galleria, says an important vision her husband Bert has worked so hard to see with The Diamond Galleria is “to not just be a business, but to be a business focused on helping our community.”
The event will be held in the Pangea Kitchen Private Room and will begin at 11:45, with the donation check presentation to begin at 12:15pm. The Diamond Galleria invites these charities, the media and supporters to join.
“To us, it’s simple. If we want the Evansville community to support us, we need to be talking the talk and walking the walk. There are so many incredible nonprofits and so many passionate individuals in the tristate doing great things. We’re just here saying, ‘What can we do to help?’” says Bert Wheat.
