The Posey County Economic Development Partnership is our March Chamber Member of the Month. Brittaney Johnson, Executive Director, gives insights on what services and resources the partnership brings to Posey County.
Who started the business and why? The organization hired the first Executive Director in 2010. Prior to the organization name change, Posey County Economic Development Partnership (PCEDP), it was known as the Mt. Vernon Industrial Foundation.
What are the services you provide? The main goal of Posey County Economic Development is to increase the Posey County tax base, through initiatives including, but not limited to, quality of life projects, population attraction, business retention and expansion, creation of new jobs and workforce development.
What is your favorite thing about the business? My favorite thing about Posey County Economic Development is meeting new people and building new relationships each day, always working to improve and grow the Posey County community is a great challenge, but so rewarding!
What do most members of the community not know about the business? Posey County Economic Development is a public-private funded organization that helps to create a vibrant business community as well as promote initiatives that add value to the quality of life for current and potential Posey County residents. Strong relationships with business and government help PCEDP assist businesses with data and resources to make the decision to invest in Posey County.
