2018 Indiana General Assembly Legislative Report
This short session is moving along at a very quick pace. The first half of session is in the books. The bills that haven’t passed are no longer eligible for action, so the bill load we follow is significantly lower now. Two competing workforce proposals are working through both the House and Senate. The Governor’s opioid plan is moving through the Senate. Sunday sales is very close to becoming reality. The Chamber’s efforts on regional quality of place is moving through the legislative process. We’ve also been in the middle of discussions to make sure any efforts to reform the process to implement an Economic Improvement District does minimal harm to a community’s ability to implement one.
